Why is this Important to Health?
What is common to the words
"Recovery," "Regain," "Improve," "Sustain," and "Build"?
They are all considered to be ACTION words.
Few things change if WE do nothing.
There are times when DOING apparently nothing can be a benefit.
These include those times when we are best to allow our own actions or those of others to work their way forward, or to materialize. This can involve patience, rest, meditation, prayer, Reverence, .... We are Doing. We are "doing" CALM during which ignited energies have an opportunity to warm us; to balance out the colder destructive energies.
How is CALM different from DEFEAT?
What is the difference between these Calm periods and those in which we are Doing despair, depression, defeat, apathy, tiredness? In the former, we have HOPE; in the latter, we are doing hopelessness. To recover from CFS-ME, one MUST have or find Hope. To build a desire for the future is one of the few ways in which we can resist falling into living a LOST life (Past), or, living a life of CHALLENGE (Present).
You can have HOPE even in apparent defeat.
This is not the better way to forge on towards recovery, yet, it is better than complete despair. In my own situation, for perhaps as long as 3 of the 5 years I had CFS-ME, and even until I turned the corner, as I would phrase it, I believed that I WOULD die. I had ONE reason to hang on. I had assisted hundreds of others to a better life and better health in dramatic degrees of changes I could only wonder at. I had recovered, survived, and won over many challenges for almost 60 years. I had begun my experience with CFS-ME with total confidence that I would recover and that I could assist my then new wife to recover also. Many of my own health successes previously had happened in a period of months .. when so-called experts had pronounced that I would not, ever Recover. In some cases, they had asserted I did not have long to live. Months. Now, after two years of continual struggle, search, and determination, I HAD recovered from obvious systemic Candida, obvious intestinal parasites, an acute heavy metal poisoning, and other things .. but NOT from CFS-ME.
For persons who have a Basic Personality trait of Aggressiveness, about 10% of the population, learning and appreciating the accumulating periods of Calm, is an experience and awareness which they often must work with if they are to limit the many ways in which their aggressiveness can be expressed destructively. Expressions of hate, lust, greed, vengeance, and envy are intense activities of the mind which drain away almost as much energy as their acted out examples of violence, rape, burglary, murder, and distraction. The more constructive expressions of anger, attraction, appreciation, charity, and forgiveness can be energy conservers which build our energy reservoir. If you have CFS-ME, you cannot afford to waste what little energy is available to you. If you have any illness, your energies will buoy you up into better health faster if they are building rather than dwindling.

What is a "Life I Love" ?
Reality NOT Fantasy.
There is no Peace in a fantasy that can never be fulfilled unless a miracle of wealth or impossible physical ability happens. In truly demanding longer term chronic and acute illness experiences, one is best to focus on a reality they can have the confidence of getting to. If you have done something, or had something, before .. there is a good chance that you could again. It may only seem to be a matter of health. Even financial demands can often be satisfied if one has their health. This is especially true if health includes physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual.
What are the activities or experiences you previously enjoyed?
Was there a favorite date or appointment or meeting or presentation that particularly inspired you or brought you great JOY or Happiness? What are your most favored 6 or 10 movies that you would not be bored to see again? What was one or three of the greatest achievements YOU feel or know you have done? The level of importance is to you, not to others, and not involving ANY level of comparison. Write a list out.
What if you cannot think of any positives?
Not many people have memory retrieval problems.
Some people have more difficulty remembering than others.
Often, I have found that persons with Energy Blocks come to me and may not be able to remember much that happened in their life further back than 1 or 3 years. Removing the energy blocks has the miraculous influence of returning those memories .. in a non threatening way. Yet, you may not have access to someone who can assist you with this, even if you have the financial and other resources. Your primary motivations will likely be elsewhere. What to do?
Finding positives you are unaware of CAN be done.
Do you or any members of your family have any pictures of you?
Do you have a smile in any of them? Why? What was happening?
Ask some friends and relatives to tell you times when they thought you were happy. In all cases, make a note of any suggestions ... even if you don't remember them, or, don't really believe them. The Reality is that other people believed that you were happy, even if you don't remember it. That is a good indication that some persons or experiences HAVE encouraged happiness in you.
Avoid trashing and rubbishing memories of happiness.
Many of us do this constantly. We have had good experiences, yet they eventually led to painful losses. Now, we focus on the loss, and trash the good. Perhaps a girlfriend, boyfriend, pet, uncle or aunt, parent, cousin, school teacher, co-worker, employer, waitress, .... After days, or months, or years .. something happened to the relationship and we either lost them, pushed them away, were abandoned or ridiculed by them, or otherwise, disappointed in a significant way. A favorite job ended in layoff or dismissal. A favorite course we chose to drop because a new instructor took over and was a complete authoritarian idiot, in our eyes. Maybe we had done our best. Maybe we had been too immature. Maybe we had really deserved, even to ourselves, to have received the loss.
The fact that something ended does not diminish the Reality that was ... unless, we are so proud as to throw away what was Good to us. Are we so undeserving because we made a mistake, or because someone else did? ALL humans make mistakes. Are we not part of humanity? Perhaps it is time for us to grow up and stop Doing temper tantrum forgetting because many events have not turned out perfectly for us. Time to take ownership of our life, both the pleasurable and the hurtful. We have a CHOICE. We can choose to focus us what has been Good, or, we can choose to be losers and focus on what we have lost. How do you WANT to be remembered? It is up to you. No one can force you to believe anything.
Times of long and constant challenge without the Positives we have come to form our Identity on can have us begin to doubt our abilities and forget our successes. In CFS-ME (2009 and before) it has been difficult to find anyone who could empathize with us. In most cases, we could not even empathize with each other because we failed to understand that there were thousands of variations, not just ONE! In many cases, those who had known us for the longest of times, whom we trusted, whom we loved, whom we respected ... treated us as if we had, or were, somehow trying to deceive or manipulate them, and as if we were somehow acting out this sickness role. It is difficult not to become what everyone around you seem to indicate you are: weak, pitiful, dependent, ugly, impotent. Yet, what we have been confirms what we could be again. Never doubt your potential.
At my worst, I could not remember good times.
From my preteen years, I had acquired a brain disorder that meant that my recall was poor. I had the information, yet I often could not access it when it was desired. Memory courses, speed reading courses, ... nothing helped at all. I had to develop an unnatural ability for my Basic Personality: organizing. If it were organized and filed, I could find it. I became an excellent organizer. Energy blocks, both high numbers born with and high numbers acquired, made information retrieval even more difficult. Eventually, I got rid of all of my energy blocks. Memory improved. Not retrieval. What happens when you cannot remember anything much on an emotional level beyond 6 months ago, and, you have been deathly ill and struggling with CFS-ME for 3 years!?
My FAITH and my WILL to help others kept me going.
It had enabled me to survive 30 years previously when a botched lumbar puncture had exposed me to 30 hours of continuous brain stabbing pain. I was isolated in a hospital room unable to push the help button. I was missed/avoided by incompetent nurses following incomplete and erroneous medical records. That was a hell of torture I would wish on no one. Now, my hell was not pain, it was a constant and recurring weakness that left me struggling by hour to breathe and move. Even worse, it was also being experienced by the person I loved, and I could do little to help her. Somehow, ALL our efforts seemed to lead nowhere. How long could I hold on. Increasingly, I was describing my life like hanging on by my fingertips. How much longer could I? Yet, every hour of every wakefulness, God, was always there for me. I ASKED. I received an answer. What was best for me/us to do with the resources we had. As many times, I told other, if Anyone can survive this, I will. I knew this because I had survived so much before.
The turning point in my health was assisted by my being reminded of the option of defining "A Life I Love". It wasn't the only tool required, but it was as equally powerful as the others. I had to begin ASKING the Spiritual Guidance available to all of us, what such a life would best be. I began to review my archived notes and mental images. I made a list. It seemed so far away, so far in the past. I reviewed it as often as I could. It had to replace the tens of thousands of defeat images that were impressed upon my physical, mental, and emotional being for the previous 5 years and more. I had to search deep and use tools which many of you may not have, yet work without the benefit many of you do have: recall. You don't have to wait to use this tool until you have lost so much. Begin NOW to remind yourself of where YOU are going. It will be much easier to get there if you can touch it with your mind!

Joy or Sadness ?
With the state of the world today, can you be serious!?
Many of those who acquire CFS-ME have been world aware.
It is difficult to be politically aware and BE Hopeful.
Our newsmedia for 100 years has pleasured in catastrophe.
There is much that is positive that happens, and, we don't hear it.
If we turn off all the media and only listen to those around us ..
We can hear, and see, and make happen many positive examples.
Must we be doomed to ignorance & denial in order to be sane?
Sanity IS an ability to be content with one's experiences.
Sanity IS an Action of willful positive contribution.
How can we balance a reality presented to us with ..
A Reality which we are making come true every day?
If we find the Earth and our surroundings less than we find pleasant or tolerable, we have choices. It is in the discernment of the COLORS of our opportunities that we can Join In without being drowned, buried, or smothered. Individually, we are exposed to the "events" of 50% of the world, as selected by our media gatekeepers.
Our grandparents seldom knew, had access to, or cared about what was happening in the next city. They had a LIFE to live and bringing up their children and maintaining and improving their individual and family security and safety was primary. We are now prompted to put our foot in and make decisions about the lives of a family we are TOLD has been expanded for us to include persons we will never see or speak to, and, who don't even know or care that we exist.
We ALWAYS have at least 7 possible responses to any question.
Culturally, we are conveniently dumbed down to TWO choices.
With only a Yes and a No" we are easy to persuade & manipulate.
The Need for CONTROL is the downside of Authority.
Authority brings us order, peace, simplicity.
It INTENDS to bring us justice & equality.
Like so many other intentions, it Fails.
We forgive because we don't want what we have been taught is the alternative.

Reality is often not the way we would prefer it to be.
We did not create the world, nor have we not been changing it for thousands of years. What we do know is that by recorded history, humans have been changing the landscape from what they found it for at least 8,000 years. Archaeology suggests that recorded history is but an opening chapter on a much larger book of human modifications of the Earth, likely extending back at least 40,000 years.
There is a lot of prehistory.
Paleontology analyses even deeper. It would have humans roaming the Earth as far back as 2 million years in time. Prehistory is when people just accepted what they had and lived the best life they could on a day-to-day basis. No need to write about it. No one else wanted to know. They had lives of their own. They did not bother others, and, others did not bother them.The Earth is NOT as we were given it, or found it. We have continually been unhappy with what we had and, for many rationalized reasons, chosen to change it. Often, those who have come after us, have been unhappy in what their ancestors have done, and added new changes.
Responsibility is taking credit, and, criticism.
Responsibility is owning the changes one has made, and, the changes one has chosen to ignore, suppress, resist, deny, encourage, destroy, and, reflect on. It is about acknowledging one's part and one's place in the larger picture.
