Good intentions; Bad results!
HIGHER SELF GUIDANCE contributed to improvement of my health for 4 years. During that time, I was able to increasingly assist others in improving their health. I then knew about 25% of what is on this site. I had one distant mentor whose progression in the art I observed once every 6 months and who was now expressing that he thought I was ahead of his skills in some ways. I thought that balancing was only beneficial for health of the physical and emotional kind.
ENERGY BLOCKS CAN BLIND YOU.
I still had over 50 energy blocks.
I had not yet progressed far enough not to occasionally generate new blocks and some blocks require a period of time to "dissolve". By the standard expressed on these pages, I was still in the early stages of founding a comprehensive and efficient procedure. More challenges would have to be experienced before more answers could be found.
WHAT YOU SEE IS NO GUARANTEE OF SUCCESS.
Physical and emotional health are NOT indicators of being balanced.
Neither is an apparent lack of physical health an indication of NOT being balanced. If your Balancing has come after you have effectively destroyed your body, balancing will not resurrect you and give you a new physical start. It will enable you to recover from many illnesses that are fatal for others. It will allow you to cope with difficulties constructively. It will allow the organs and other tissues of your body to be cleansed and regenerated, if that is part of your mission. It will allow you to progress in situations where unbalanced persons whither and die. As to whether emotional, physical, spiritual, or identity clarity comes first with an individual, it all depends on who you are.
I HAD PROGRESSED quite a way since beginning to access my Higher Self for guidance. My physical and emotional health were better and stronger than at any time in my previous 40+ years. I had become aware of Ego domination influences and got them under control. Perhaps 1% of persons releasing energy blocks encounter both dominant Ego and dominant SuperEgo interference. I was one of those unfortunate ones. The challenge would be taken by my
Basic Personality and my Personal Spirit, eventually, and be converted into something good. But for now, a huge unrecognized problem entered the picture.
WHAT WAS THE SOURCE OF THE PROBLEM ?
For three years, I didn't know.
Higher Self guidance always directs you in such a way that benefits for you and others are arrived at in the short- and long-term. Such benefits are often unable for you to conceive of in the beginning. When no matter how hard you try, nor how much you sacrifice --- for the intended good of others --- the end is either a disaster for you, or them, or both, or, nothing ... you have BIG trouble. When you think you are doing what SHOULD be done, but it just doesn't work out ... you are missing something ... something important.
AT LEAST 90% of the SHOULDS which we commonly verbalize are SuperEgo in origin. If we have any form of authoritarian upbringing we have a clearly defined "conscience" or moral standard. These may develop from highly defined and rigid religious standards, or, creeds of band or gang loyalty, or, demanding educational and family expectations. Add to this a strong need for acceptance --- encouraged by abuse, energy blocks, or other factors --- the mixture thickens. Add one or more incidences of personal injustice magnified by an awareness of social and political injustices --- and INTENSITY can result. Intense, magnified, focused energies are like a bolt of lightning. They possess the power to impress, entertain, dazzle, ignite, transform, consume, destroy.
INTENSE SUPEREGOs can control our choices according to what we have learned "should" bring us social acceptance and self-redemption. Persons so motivated are often publicly acknowledged for their physical sacrifice in the service of the status quo. It is as if the person can only view the purpose of their life and its success by how much benefit they can bring to others. A continuum of variation is possible --- from apparent self-denial for self-benefit --- to total self-denial and benefit to others --- to self-denial for deferred self-benefit based on benefit to others. Obviously, mass societies survive by inducing strong SuperEgo development.
IF YOU HAVE NO PERSONAL LIFE, you have abdicated living to become a slave to some other entity. You are living life through the successes or failures of the institution you have surrendered to. Questions involving intimacy, social involvement, business participation, religious expression and political contribution can be posed to our Higher Self. But many of us grow up with all of these neatly packaged and defined by institutions. Sooner or later, if and when we need the help of that institution, we may be abandoned.
OVERCONFIDENCE denies humility.
Without humility and the ability to listen, we endanger our success. Since the Jewish Old Testament Genesis story of Adam and Eve, humanity has demonstrated a chronic tendency to simply ignore God and forge ahead in the belief that we as individuals know better. It's an easy trap to fall into. When you do not have the whole picture, but impatiently believe you do, it is easy to rush ahead ... and become a fool. Progressing quickly in a discovery of a new reality and new options sometimes results in our "jumping to conclusions." This Ego pride sacrifices our Higher Self contact by strengthening our SuperEgo. We think we know, before we ask, so we don't listen, and, don't really want to hear any guidance.
INEXPERIENCE CAN FEED OVERCONFIDENCE.
We can think we are going in the right direction because we have a clear focus. Yet that focus will be through the lens of our SuperEgo values and Ego wants UNLESS we have also developed, or been blessed with a strong Personal Spirit capable of managing our identity team. This management ability is often a skill we must learn. If other identity factors, like our Ego need and our SuperEgo values are very dominant and strong, this development may have been impossible UNTIL a severe life-changing challenge presents itself.
CHALLENGES FROM OTHERS TO DENY our Higher Self are almost a given in most larger cultures. To admit openly that you pray or meditate, and that you actually receive guidance, and that you actually follow that guidance --- is a sure formula for rejection. I consistently receive great encouragement from well intentioned others to simply "own" the credit for the guidance I have received. It would be so much easier to understand, for them, if I would just take the position of a leader, mentor, savior. If I would deny, they would not have to feel that they also could become spiritually directed. Inwardly, they know what responsibilities that might bring. It is just easier to deny our Higher Self and only accept what we WANT to know: and what we have been TAUGHT or IMPRINTED with.
DENIAL IS MADE EASY.
We are encouraged to "perform" in public, like a circus magician.
It will bring us fame, fortune, attention, and of course will that not lead to helping more people ?
IF WE ACCEPT THE EMBARRASSMENT projected by the disbelief of the masses, our friends, our associates, our relatives, perhaps even our spouse ... it becomes easier for us to avoid confrontation by simply taking the credit. But the deception of taking credit diminishes our access to spiritual guidance. It closes off the openness which humility provides. It encourages our SuperEgo to spread the good news to others to strengthen and overpower our Personal Spirit and enlist the support of our materialistic Ego. A key to marketing success and to the acquisition of capital financing has been to display extreme confidence and promise everything. For the spiritually guided person, such is impossible.
HUMILITY is the most important key to spiritual guidance.
I have had lots of challenges to impress and prove that.
IF I had listened to the many well meaning persons who knew what I should do and who I should believe over the past 13 years, I would be dead 10 times over. I can empathize with Job. He lost all of his material riches, his social respect, his friends, even his wife ... yet he maintained his belief in his spiritual guidance. It was not easy, not even within himself ... but for him, the resulting awareness and benefits were worth the challenge. I fortunately learned early to request spiritual guidance in private, without distraction, and with humility.
Reverence and
No-Emotion work with humility to quieten our Ego and SuperEgo. Overconfidence from past successes of Higher Self guidance and our ability to acquire it on many other decisions in the NOW can result in our becoming lax in self-discipline. For the sake of a few minutes, we may sacrifice a career, a marriage, or, our spiritual strength. The tragedy is that we simply will not be aware of it until later --- when the damage done becomes obvious and our SuperEgo can no longer make excuses (rationalizations as to why we were right).
IN MY OWN CASE, a promising career was discarded, great amounts of time and effort were fruitless, tremendous physical-emotional-spiritual stresses were needlessly incurred, and, several intimate relationships were entered with unfounded expectation.
AFTER LESS THAN A YEAR in a new career which matched my Basic Personality, a choice was presented. As a security officer, I was required to be analytical, methodical, work both indoor and outdoors, monitor persons and equipment, use good communication skills, look for the unexpected, and be able to respond quickly in an emergency. I enjoyed the work. I received two commendations for superior service in my first 3 months. Unusual. After about 9 months or less, I was offered a promotion usually not available until after 2 years of service.
THE BIG CHALLENGE to all of the foregoing was that a long-term friend and former employer approached me and offered to finance my entering the mortgage brokerage business. He guaranteed me a reasonable income for a year. Success or not, I would be secure. I had worked for him before in commercial sales and had been very successful, and, low paid. More important than the security was the potential to help many people find their best mortgage option and be well paid. Instead of protecting property and a few people, I would be enhancing the lives of many people. I took the position.
FAILURE IN SUCCESS. How is that possible?
At that time, I thought Higher Self guidance only extended to health matters. I don't know why. Perhaps because that is where it had been crucial for me and how I had been able to help others. Perhaps because all of my education, business training, and self-development courses had told me that the greatest success came from firmly making one's own decisions, rationally, with good planning.
After 6 months of operation, we financially reached the business break even point we had originally targeted for after a year. Then, suddenly, the business was being shut down. My friend, the business owner, had made some bad personal investments and monies "guaranteed" for the business were being swept down the drain to cover personal debts. I was devastated.
TRUSTING OTHERS who "should" be trustworthy is what society builds its authority on. We are educated to trust lawyers, ministers, priests, professionals, teachers, professors, managers, executives, law enforcement persons, doctors, scientists, and others. They are presented to us as gods and many come to believe they are gods. There is just one thing wrong with this equation. They are only people.
Pareto's 80/20 rule applies here also, regretfully.
That is, 80% of any socially designated authority group is incompetent; 20% actually have a good degree of knowledge and ability for what they are responsible for. Trusting others to guide you in your decisions when you can choose Higher Self divine guidance is simply foolish. I did not yet know I had that option. More decisions would have to be made now. And they would be just as crucial. The security company I had worked for had changed their management, their policies for promotion, and, were overstaffed. My successes with them earlier now meant nothing. Now I was definitely motivated to try and find a better way of making this kind of choice.
DOMINANT SUPEREGOs DEMAND THE IMPOSSIBLE.
So, get accustomed to losing. It has nothing to do with God making our life difficult or of the devil ruling on the Earth. It does have to do with us humans acting as if we were god. We don't ask. We don't listen.
MY PERSONAL REALITY was that I had tried to enter and succeed in the financial services field (banking, insurance, investments) in 1967/8, 1981, and 1982. Each time, I left discouraged. On two occasions, I felt that I was being asked to do immoral things, and I refused. On the last, the reality became clear that for a lot of work and SuperEgo indoctrination, the financial reward was miniscule ... for everyone, including the manager.
NETWORKING SKILLS for some industries are critical.
If you do not have extensive lists of acquaintances, you have little chance for success ... unless you work hard, long hours, and, can finance your own materially elevated lifestyle for at least the first 2 years. I was not a social butterfly, sports fan, smoker, or beer and alcohol drinker --- my networking history was poor. Small talk was not my strong point. Insurance companies and other forms of financial services depend on their sales staff to introduce the company to thousands of personal acquaintances. My SuperEgo super-rationalized that with enough technical expertise, determination, honesty, and benefit to others --- I could surpass contact limitations and industry culture standards which conflicted with my own.
SUPEREGOs have to be STIMULATED not just motivated.
You may want to help others but unless you perceive that you have a powerful way of doing that --- a powerful SuperEgo is not interested. In this case, the following all contributed to an intense 3-year roller-coaster ride of promised potentials and devastating failures.
- recommendation of a mentor and industry sales leader;
- guarantee promised by a friend who had delivered before;
- expectations supported by religious and social institutions;
- procedures sanctioned by legal and semi-legal authorities;
- personal invitation by a manager to join an elite group;
- expectation of continued performance without tools;
- assurances of 3rd party integrity by trusted associates;
- belief in justice and fairness from North American law;
- assumption that others shared a similar form of "conscience."
10% of the North Americans I have worked with have reached a critical threshold of personal advancement sometime during release of all of their energy blocks. In all cases, a part of their identity has disrupted their communication with their Higher Self. That is, the Higher Self guidance intended for them is perverted by their Ego or SuperEgo for either of their ends. This almost always occurs only in one or two areas of the person's decision-making. Had they not released some energy blocks, their opportunities now would have been smaller and their failure also. Now, opportunities will present which, if followed with Higher Self guidance will provide almost unbelievable success. The downside is unbelievable failure.
THE WEAKEST ASPECT of this form of BALANCING is its spiritual approach.
That is, weakest in our ocean of cultural materialistic influences and demands. You will not be forced to go anywhere that all aspects of your Identity are not prepared to go. Sometimes those aspects have to learn their limitations the hard way ... because they have learned their positions of intolerance through the abuses of others. If you are totally by yourself, and are in the 10% ... there is no protection. You will simply have to endure it. This type of dominant Ego or SuperEgo interference is undetectable to the subject.
IF OTHERS HAVE BEEN ALLOWED TO SHARE in your journey, and are perceptive and informed ... they may notice your Super-Ego decisions being made. It is often difficult to criticize the good intentions of others because of our own SuperEgo indoctrination. Chances are that even if such is the case and a friend confides the problem to you, your domineering SuperEgo will give you lots of denial, piousness, defensiveness, and super-rationalized deception to maintain your overconfidence.
A CERTAIN AND POSSIBLE SAFEGUARD is to request feedback from another person whom you know well enough and long enough to know that they have strong Higher Self guidance and strong self-management skills. While this is possible --- and will save you from a great amount of SuperEgo pain in which you feel you are having to totally give up your moral foundation --- the SuperEgo dominated person will likely avoid it. The SuperEgo wants to satisfy and receive recognition from the status quo ... even ideals preached to be the norm yet seldom acted on in reality. Relying on the Higher Self guidance from another is simply too challenging for a SuperEgo that believes it "should" rule the world and that it has the sanction of all human authorities to do so.
SUCCESS COULD HAVE BEEN A BIGGER FAILURE.
Yes, if I had been rewarded with material wealth and social approval, acceptance, and power in the roles which my SuperEgo had directed me, none of what I have been Spiritually Guided to since would likely have happened. My rewarded SuperEgo would have basked in its glory and never surrendered its dictatorship role. I would have helped hundreds, maybe thousands of persons improve their lives in areas of financial security or personal security.
WHAT WOULD THE TRAGEDY HAVE BEEN?
I would have died a few years later from a health difficulty which was only defeated with the assistance of Spiritual Guidance. I would not have completed the information you find on these pages and in my Seminars ... which have the potential of helping millions and hundreds of millions of people! It is not a question of whether we succeed. It is a question of what have we lost that we could have had. What opportunity are you passing by because of your perceived present success, or, because you just do not thing you can do it.
THIS IS A HURDLE ONLY FOR A FEW.
Getting past it, means having an opportunity to provide an even greater positive spiritual contribution to humanity. Failure has no doubt been the example of many persons. Those who fell from grace to become the devils we remember for their political contribution and forget for their social and spiritual degradation, torture and execution of thousands --- usually undertaken in the name of God! Success often contributes to great advances in medicine, politics, and the social sciences. Following spiritual guidance, your name probably won't be known by most people or remembered by any --- so there is no SuperEgo encouragement, except ... a valuable contribution and a much fuller life than is otherwise possible.
