Patience and Gentleness.

PREFACE
This page is an example of how one can take the original description of the spiritual Principle addressed by the specified Bach Flower Remedy noted in the reference, at the bottom of this page, and reframe it into a learning tool to assist you to build a new coping skill --- a constructive attitude and behavior pattern.

The description in the book is BEST for a person who has the energy block or is going through a session to release that block. The description by Scheffer is largely of what a destructive attitude and pattern of the spiritual Principle would be like if one had this particular type of energy block. That description enables awareness to increase and allows the Reptilian Structure to more inclusively bring together the components of the block concerned, when indicated, so that it can be released.

AFTER the energy block is gone, one May still find it helpful to counter the still present IMPRINTING that has also been imposed on the Identity by the person's environment. This is NOT always the case. Only about 37% of my clients would benefit from this. Only 11% NEED this benefit to make their improvement assured and hopeful against an environment that encourages the negative Principle. Usually, these are INTENSE people.

IMPATIENS relates to the soul qualities of Patience and Gentleness.

Showing great empathy, delicacy of feeling, and angelic patience while being quick-thinking is a description of a person who is in the Positive Impatiens state. Aware of the difference between themselves and the individuality of others, they are considerate and diplomatic in their requests, encouragements, and feedback. They will often have a clear perspective of what they believe is best to be done and will often also either have the skills to carry out such projects or the projected expectation that they can.

Remaining in a positive Impatiens state requires a keen self-awareness and self-discipline such that one can see oneself as a part of a community in which each member can have a part to play in outcomes which benefit oneself and others. It may be humbling to acknowledge that oneself has great skill of intelligence, decision-making, analysis, and problem solving yet for optimum use of, acknowledgement of, and benefit to be gained from such skills one is often best to harmonize them with the skills of others. Greater influence and benefit will come from greater contact and interaction with others. Helping and encouraging others to do those things one dislikes and is less skilled for can lead to the development of more opportunities for oneself.

An EXAMPLE of a positive Impatiens oriented person would be the Vice-President of Volunteer Services for a regional office of a national not-for-profit fund raising organization. She can quickly envision which activities would be best carried out each day and who would be best delegated to effect them. She confirms with the canvassing team and each individual team member that they know what is expected of them, that they have the supplies and information they require, and, that they are suitably motivated and acknowledged. She expects that with their lesser involvement, their shorter skill development, their less demanding Basic Personalities -- that they will have problems and make errors -- which she can best help them remedy. She is always on top of the developments as they unfold throughout the day.

To try and do all of the operations and activities involved in researching, recording, contacting, presenting to, following-up with, networking to other prospects, recording replies and proposals, receiving gifts, attending meetings, printing materials, responding to queries, and interacting with other canvassing team members --- would result in her running in all directions at once, and, getting little actually accomplished. Her team members would be frustrated and feel hurt and rejected by her avoidance of them and lack of respect for their presence and their desire to join in and contribute. Her frustration with their less than perfect results from their unassisted and unsupervised activities would increase her inner tension and too often it would flare out as criticism and aggression. She would be all over her staff!

Like a young child, a strong Ego, and an immature SuperEgo, the person expressing a negative impatience state sees possibilities which it believes it understands and which it believes are important to it, and wants to have those acted upon immediately and with full involvement and effort. Awareness of other projects, possibilities and factors is a distraction that demands sharing with others -- acknowledging others. The Impatiens styled Basic Personality does not look to others for acknowledgement. It is a revelation to it that others actually require and appreciate attention. It does not withhold this attention to deceive, manipulate, or penalize. It is just too much into itself to notice others as more than an annoyance.

Breaking out of the self and into the world is the growth which boosts the Impatiens style person to open their heart and take in what is around them through their ears rather than projecting what is in their mind onto an innocent and unsuspecting world. Too much inner intensity with little outer contact can yield cold, mechanistic tyrants who are bored with others as much as the others are shocked by their inhumanity. It is this integration of inner resources with an outer reality which can reduce their excesses to optimums and increase their appreciation for more of what is around them. The next time that great idea comes to mind, take a deep breath, and listen -- to Spiritual Guidance.

GUIDELINE
If you wish to create your own reframed version of a Bach Remedy spiritual PRINCIPLE description to use for your chosen positive imprinting through repetitive exposure, consider the following.

  • Negative expressions of spiritual states are extremes, not good or bad according to some authoritarian personal election. The positive expression is seldom the opposite of the negative extreme. Look for the difference in context and the improvement in relevancy as an indicator of good choices of words.

  • Personalize your description with words like "I", "She", "My", and others.
