#31, VERVAIN Remedy, Spiritual Positive,
Self-discipline and Restraint.

PREFACE
This page is an example of how one can take the original description of the spiritual Principle addressed by the specified Bach Flower Remedy noted in the reference, at the bottom of this page, and reframe it into a learning tool to assist you to build a new coping skill --- a constructive attitude and behavior pattern.

The description in the book is BEST for a person who has the energy block or is going through a session to release that block. The description by Scheffer is largely of what a destructive attitude and pattern of the spiritual Principle would be like if one had this particular type of energy block. That description enables awareness to increase and allows the Reptilian Structure to more inclusively bring together the components of the block concerned, when indicated, so that it can be released.

AFTER the energy block is gone, one May still find it helpful to counter the still present IMPRINTING that has also been imposed on the Identity by the person's environment. This is NOT always the case. Only about 37% of my clients would benefit from this. Only 11% (usually the more intense) NEED this benefit to make their improvement assured and hopeful against an environment that encourages the negative Principle.

VERVAIN relates to the soul potentials of self-discipline and restraint.

A person who is self aware of their energies and is self disciplined in applying them to where they are most relevant is in the positive Vervain state. They realize that balancing inner resources to outer involvements contribute optimally to achieving their goals.

Pacing themselves and balancing their energies, the person in the positive Vervain state who has been given a task, accomplishes what is needed in an effective manner while enjoying what they are doing. They have developed a respect for their physical energy limitations and are careful to not over extend themselves.

An inner flame is aglow in Vervain people.
They are pleased to share what they are passionate and enthusiastic about. They share openly their opinions and beliefs while asking for, and listenting to, the other person's input. They are aware of the positive influence they can have on others.

A person who is outwardly focused and squanders their energies is someone in the negative Vervain state. Their Ego (personal wants) and Super Ego (Social values) interfere and dominate their decision-making and try to impose a direction on the achievements sought and the energies devoted. This pressure and intensity to do in order to reap a reward always produces resistance and doubt in others and disharmony amongst one's Identity factors.

Obsessed with acceptance, the person in the negative Vervain state will take the task they have been given and apply it to excess, imposing unnecessarily on others when the situation does not benefit from such intensity. Employing their position with such willpower and action that it disables their other responsibilities, the person expressing the negative Vervain state, may encourage disrespect, ridicule, satire, defensiveness, and rebellion in those they seek to drive into an image of social acceptability.

Zealous in their drive for harmony, the person in the negative Vervain state attempts to draw others into the reverence for values, orders, and standards which they have themselves accepted as a projected qualification for acceptance by a person seen to hold great power of reward and penalty. Their wish to win at any cost totally involves their energies, narrows their focus to tunnel vision, and, excludes the assistance of others. Eventually, they will have raised such a degree of anxiety, fear, tension, and tiredness within themselves that they will fall ill.

I am relaxed and persistent, knowing that I have sufficient energy to joyfully complete the tasks that I am Spiritually Guided to do. I know that God wants me to experience peace and contentment during each day and that I will be Guided to a balance of work and rest. With this positive reverence, it is easy for me to physically and mentally relax. I carry out my daily tasks with a lightness of effort.

I am respectful and aware that every individual has their own mission and has the capability of discovering what that entails. If my ideas are relevant and constructive, others will understand, accept, and adopt them. Their acknowledgement of me will be evident in the positive influence I have provided and the changes and choices they have made after taking my feedback into account.

I have found my Mission in life which is daily made more clear, certain, and empowering, through following the Spiritual Guidance received by my Personal Spirit. I embody my values and ideals and know that living these daily is the most effective way to positively influence others. With my exuberant character I am able to inspire others and carry them along easily.

I am aware of the great deal of positive energy which is available to me from my Higher Self via my Personal Spirit. I continue to learn how and to apply these energies in an efficient / relevant manner. I flow with the Spiritual energies and Guidance received. I manage the differing contributions of my identity factors by integrating them into my Mission through the benefits of Spiritual Guidance.

I can think in a wider context.
While wholly involved in my task, I am also prepared at all times to hear the opinions of others and review my own position when relevant.

To remain and gain entry into the Positive Vervain state, the following will help:

  • Realize that inflexibility presupposes failure;
  • Acknowledge that people support what they are invited to share in;
  • Others participate more readily when their concerns are heard;
  • Respect your body. It's health is your freedom of action;
  • Build stamina and duration rather than speed.

GUIDELINE
If you wish to create your own reframed version of a Bach Remedy spiritual PRINCIPLE description to use for your chosen positive imprinting through repetitive exposure, consider the following.

  • Negative expressions of spiritual states are extremes, not good or bad according to some authoritarian personal election. The positive expression is seldom the opposite of the negative extreme. Look for the difference in context and the improvement in relevancy as an indicator of good choices of words.

  • Personalize your description with words like "I", "She", "My", and others.
